Game Summary

On Friday night, the Saints managed just seven hits against Farming and had to come from behind in the seventh inning to take the lead.  Michael Carr led the way on offense, going 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, and an RBI.  Jason Wald also had two hits and Keith Plekkenpol picked up the win on the mound in relief, allowing just one unearned run in three innings of work.  Wald started and went five strong innings, allowing one run on three hits and he struck out five.  Chad Schwegel pitched the ninth inning to pick up his first save of the season.

The Saints fell behind 1-0 after three innings of play, but tied the game in the fifth after Eli Stenman reached on an error, stole second and advanced to third on the throw from the catcher, and scored on Michael Carr's single.  Farming regained the lead at 2-1 in the sixth, but the Saints scored three times with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the lead.  With one out, Stenman was hit by a pitch and Carr singled.  After a flyout and wild pitch put runners on second and third, Brent Schloe walked to load the bases.  Luke Schumer then struck out, but the pitch was in the dirt and allowed Schumer to reach first, Carr to reach third, Schloe to reach second, and Stenman to score and tie the game.  Another wild pitch and a passed ball allowed Carr and Schloe to score and give the Saints the lead for good.
