On Sunday, the Saints trailed 8-0 after six innings, but came back to tie the game with three runs in the seventh and five in the eighth. In the 10th, Keith Plekkenpol's sacrifice fly scored Steve Newman from third to give the Saints the lead and the victory. Luke Schumer picked up the win on the mound with four innings of solid relief in which he allowed three hits, one walk, and one strikeout that came in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and the bases loaded. Offensively, the Saints had 15 hits in the game, four each by Ryan Stark (4-for-6, double, RBI, two runs scored) and Steve Newman (4-for-6, double, three RBIs, run scored). Dan Scholand finished 3-for-6 with a run scored and Brent Schloe went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
The game was tied 0-0 until the Grays scored once in the bottom of the fifth and then seven more times in the sixth to take an 8-0 lead. But, in the top of the seventh, the Saints came to life as did their bats. Eli Stenman led off by reaching on an error and went to second on a wild pitch. With one out, Ryan Stark singled home Stenman with the Saints' first run of the game. Schloe followed with a walk, Luke Schumer singled to load the bases, and Newman singled home Stark. On that same play, Schloe scored when the left fielder overran the ball to make the score 8-3. In the eighth inning, the Saints scored five more times to tie the game at 8-8. Tom Kemper pinch hit and led off with a walk. Scholand followed with a single and Stark singled as well to load the bases. Schloe then doubled to the right field corner to score Stenman, who ran for Kemper on the re-entry rule, and Scholand. Schumer reached on a fly ball error to reload the bases and Newman followed with a double to the left field corner to score Stark and Schloe. After an out, Plekkenpol's ground out scored Newman from third with the tying run. In the top of the 10th, Newman singled, advanced to second on a wild pitch, went to third on Jason Wald's sacrifice bunt, and scored on Plekkenpol's fly ball to right field.
