Game Summary

On Sunday, the Saints used a little small ball and took advantage of a few Roster's errors to pull out a win.  The Saints had just 10 hits in the game, including three consecutive bunt singles in their four-run fourth inning.  Matt O'Neill led the offense by going 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.  Michael Carr finished 2-for-3 with two runs and Brent Schloe had two RBIs.  Blake Cheeley pitched seven strong innings to pick up the win for the Saints on the mound.  Cheeley allowed two runs on five hits, walked one, and struck out five for his second win of the year.

The Saints struck first in the top of the third inning with two runs.  O'Neill singled, Carr walked, and Ryan Stark reached on an error to load the bases.  Schloe blooped a single to left to score O'Neill and an error two batters later scored Carr.  The Saints added four more runs in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead, all starting after Keith Plekkenpol, O'Neill, and Carr had back to back to back bunt singles to load the bases.  An error off the bat of Bryan Rocheleau scored Plekkenpol, a single by Stark scored O'Neill, a fielder's choice by Schloe scored Carr, and a wild pitch scored Rocheleau from third.  The Snappers scored a run in the fourth and sixth to cut the lead to 6-2, but the Saints added another run in the ninth for some insurance.  Jason Wald reached on an error, Plekkenpol walked, and O'Neill singled home Wald.  The Snappers scored again in the ninth to make the final score 7-3.
