Game Summary

On Saturday, Jason Wald scored on an error off the bat of Ryan Stark with two outs in the bottom of the 12th to score the winning run against Roster's.  The Saints finished with only nine hits in the game, led by Stark, who went 3-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI, and Steve Newman, who went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.  Craig Hern picked up the victory in relief of Chad Schwegel with 6 2/3 solid innings, allowing no runs on three hits, one walk, and striking out 10 batters.

The Saints fell behind 2-0 after five innings and trailed 3-0 after the top of the sixth before they finally got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning with three runs of their own.  Charlie Carr led off with a triple, Dan Scholand walked, and Stark singled Carr home.  A groundout moved the runners up a base and after a walk to Hern to load the bases, Newman delivered a two out, two run single to right to score Scholand and Stark and tie the game at 3-3.  The score remained that way until the bottom of the 12th inning, when the Saints pushed a run across.  Wald led off the inning by reaching and advancing to second on an error.  A wild pitch moved Wald to third and, with two outs, Stark hit a ball to short that was mishandled, allowing Wald to score the winning run.
