Game Summary

On Saturday, the Saints played their worst game of the entire season against the Muskies.  The offense only managed five hits and the defense committed ten errors in the game, which led to five unearned runs. Charlie Carr led the offense with two hits and Dan Scholand drove in the team's only run with a sacrifice fly.  Chad Schwegel was the team's lone bright spot, pitching seven strong innings and allowing four runs (all unearned) on five hits, one walk, and striking out seven in the tough luck loss on the mound.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth inning when Sartell struck for an unearned run with two outs after three Saints errors.  In the sixth, Sartell scored three more unearned runs with the help of three more Saints errors to make the score 4-0.  The Saints scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh as Steven Newman led off with a bunt single, Jason Wald reached on an error with one out, Carr reached on a bunt single to load the bases, and Scholand hit a long sacrifice fly to left, directly into the wind, to score Newman.  Sartell would add two runs in the eighth and another unearned run in the ninth thanks to two more errors to finish the scoring for the game at 7-1.
