On Wednesday, the Saints used a 16-hit attack to defeat New Munich. Michael Carr led the offense by going 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. Aaron Rocheleau, in his first game back from college, finished 3-for-5 with an RBI, Luke Schumer and Aaron Hellem each had two hits, and Danny Scholand scored four runs. Brent Schloe added a two-run double and every batter picked up at least one hit, including Joe Prom's first career amateur hit. Schumer earned the win on the mound with four innings of work and Rocheleau picked up the save, striking out six batters over two innings.
New Munich jumped out to a 1-0 lead after two innings, but the Saints came back with two runs in the top of the third. Scholand reached on an error, Carr walked, Schumer singled to load the bases, Steve Newman's fielder's choice scored Scholand, and Rocheleau singled home Carr. The Silverstreaks tied the game in the bottom of the inning, but the Saints added three more in the top of the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. With Hellem on second with two outs, Scholand reached on an error again that scored Hellem. Carr followed with a single and Schloe doubled to score Scholand and Carr. New Munich got two runs back in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to one, but the Saints pulled away with two in the seventh and two more in the ninth. In the seventh, Tom Kemper reached and advanced to second on an error, moved to third on a groundout, Scholand walked and, while stealing second, a wild pitch allowed Kemper to score and Scholand to move to third. Scholand then scored on a wild pitch to make the score 7-4. In the ninth, Hellem singled, Scholand doubled Hellem home, and Carr singled home Scholand to finish the scoring at 9-4.
