Game Summary

On Saturday, the Saints' bats were ice cold as they managed just six hits in the game and left 15 men on base while the defense committed five errors.  Fortunately, though, the Saints were able to squeeze out the win when Danny Scholand singled home pinch runner Cameron Knudsen with the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 12th inning.  Scholand finished 2-for-6 with a double and an RBI and Michael Carr was 2-for-4 to lead the Saints.  Scott Sand pitched the first 10 innings of the game, allowing one unearned run on four hits, three walks, and he had nine strikeouts in the no-decision.  Aaron Rocheleau picked up the win in after his two innings of relief in which he struck out five of the seven batters he faced.

Brainerd scored first in the top of the sixth inning on an error, but the Saints were able to tie the game in the seventh.  Jason Wald reached on an error, went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Paul Schumer, Carr singled, and an error on the play allowed Wald to score the tying run.  The game remained 1-1 until the 12th when the Saints scored the winning run.  Wald reached on an error again and was pinch run for by Knudsen, Paul Schumer reached on an error, Carr walked to fill the bases, and, with two outs, Scholand delivered a single to right to score Knudsen and give the Saints a 2-1 victory.
