Game Summary

On Sunday, nothing went right for the Saints as the defense made three errors, the offense only had seven hits, and the team just couldn't catch a break as the Lakers found every hole possible in the defense on their way to 17 hits.  Leading the Saints at the plate was Brent Schloe, who went 3-for-4 with a home run and both of the team's RBIs.  Aaron Hellem added two hits and a run scored, and Chad Schwegel picked up the complete game loss on the mound.

The Saints again scored in the top of the first inning on a solo home run to right by Schloe for a 1-0 lead.  The score remained that way until the top of the fourth when the Lakers tied the game with a single run.  In the fifth, the Lakers broke open for four runs to take a 5-1 lead.  The Saints tried to respond in the bottom of the inning when Hellem singled, Steve Newman singled, Danny Scholand walked to load the bases, and Schloe singled home Hellem with two outs, but Newman was thrown out at the plate on the play to end the rally with the Saints trailing 5-2.  Clear Lake added a run in the sixth, three in the seventh, and another run in the ninth to take a win the game 10-2.
