Game Summary

On Sunday, the Saints' bats stayed asleep as they continued their dismal hitting and lost in extra innings to the Grays.  The Saints scored all four of their runs in one inning and had just six hits in the game.  They also blew a 4-2 lead by allowing two unearned runs in the eighth inning to tie the game.  Offensively, Brent Schloe finished 3-for-6 with a run and two RBIs to lead the team and Steve Newman added an RBI-single.  Scott Sand pitched 11 very solid innings on the mound, allowing two earned runs on 12 hits, three walks, and five strikeouts in a tough no-decision, while Paul Schumer was tagged with the loss in one inning of relief.

The Grays scored two runs in the top of the first, but the Saints rallied for all four of their runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-2 lead.  Chad Hockemeyer reached on an error, Aaron Hellem sacrificed Hockemeyer to second, Danny Scholand walked, Aaron Rocheleau walked to load the bases, Schloe singled home Hockemeyer and Scholand, a groundout followed by a wild pitch scored Rocheleau and advanced Schloe to third, and Newman singled home Schloe.  The Grays scored two unearned runs in the eighth to tie the game at 4-4 and the game remained that way until the 12th when the Grays tacked on the winning run to make the final score 5-4.
