On Sunday, the bats stayed hot as the Saints beat the Ice in seven innings. After falling behind 2-0 after a half inning of play, the Saints scored 14 unanswered runs, including six in the sixth, to pull away. Brent Schloe, Paul Schumer, and Michael Carr all finished 2-for-4 in the game to lead the offense. Schloe and Chad Hockemeyer each had three RBIs, Schumer and Carr each scored two runs; Carr and Steve Newman each had two RBIs, and Jason Wald scored three runs as well. Chad Schwegel picked up the complete game win on the mound by allowing one earned run on eight hits, three walks, and six strikeouts.
The Ice score two runs in the top of the first to take a brief 2-0 lead, but the Saints responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game. Bryan Rocheleau was hit by a pitch, Schloe reached on a fielder's choice/error that allowed Rocheleau to reach third and Schloe to advance to second, Luke Schumer walked to load the bases, and Chad Hockemeyer singled home Rocheleau and Schloe. The Saints added three more runs in the second when Carr reached on an infield single, Chris Rocheleau sacrificed Carr to second, Newman was hit by a pitch, Bryan Rocheleau sacrificed Carr to third and Newman to second, Wald was hit by a pitch to fill the bases, and Schloe singled to score Carr and Newman, and Wald also scored on the play thanks to an Ice error to give the Saints a 5-2 lead. St. Joe scored a run in the third when Paul Schumer doubled, Chris Rocheleau reached on an error that moved Schumer to third, and both runners pulled off a double steal that scored Schumer. In the fourth, the Saints added two more runs when Danny Scholand singled, Wald walked, Schloe singled to score Scholand and advance Wald to third, and Hockemeyer hit a sacrifice fly to score Wald and give the Saints an 8-2 lead. The Saints erupted for six more runs in the sixth inning to put the game away with all of the runs scoring with two outs. Wald singled and went to second on a wild pitch, Luke Schumer singled home Wald, pinch runner Mike Dabu stole second, Hockemeyer walked, Paul Schumer singled home Dabu and advanced Hockemeyer to third, Carr doubled home Hockemeyer and Schumer, Chris Rocheleau singled Carr to third, and Newman doubled home Carr and Rocheleau to give the Saints a 14-2 lead. The Ice added an unearned run in the top of the seventh to finish the scoring at 14-3.
