On Sunday, the Saints' offense finally broke out as they beat Jimmy's for their first win of the season. The Saints pounded out 14 hits in the game, led by Jason Wald (3-for-4, two runs, RBI), Aaron Hellem (3-for-5, double, two RBIs), and Brent Schloe (3-for-4, double, run). Paul Schumer added a two-run double and Michael Carr had a two-run single as well. On the mound, Scott Sand dominated his former team, carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning. He finished the game allowing one unearned run on one hit, one walk, and struck out nine in picking up his first win of the season and first as a Saint.
The Saints got on the board in the top of the third inning with a single run when Dan Scholand reached on a fielder's choice, stole second, and scored on a single by Steve Newman. The score remained 1-0 until the Saints scored three more times in the sixth. Schloe hit a double, Luke Schumer walked, Wald singled home pinch runner Jake Althaus with Schumer going to third, Wald stole second, and Carr singled both Schumer and Wald home. The Saints added two more runs in the eighth when Wald singled, Carr reached on an error, pinch hitter Cameron Knudsen reached on an error, Hellem singled home Wald, and Scholand hit a sacrifice fly to score Carr and make the score 6-0. Jimmy's scored an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth, but the Saints responded with four more in the top of the ninth. Schloe led off with a single, pinch hitter Travis Genty singled, Paul Schumer doubled both Schloe and Genty home, Sand singled home Schumer, and Hellem doubled home Sand for a 10-1 lead.
